Sakuracon 2012!

Last month was Sakuracon! Sakuracon is a con I’ve been going to for a few years now, located in Seattle, Washington. This year my friends and I did the drive all the way from the very bottom of Oregon all the way up there, and it was quite the adventure! The picture up there is a drawing I did on my window of the car with some car crayons. Penguindrum-themed, of course!

On the way, we saw a bunch of rainbows, including some double ones! It was a sign of good luck haha.

When we got to the con, the first thing I put on was my costume of Yamada from WORKING!! which is one of my favorite animes! And then we went off to enjoy the con.

My friend Anne cosplaying at Mami from Puella Magi Madoka Magica! While holding my serving tray haha.

Tsukimi from Kuragehime/Jellyfish Princess.

Kotetsu from Tiger & Bunny with some super cute puppets!

Siesta 410 and Siesta 45 from Umineko.

Shoma and Princess of Crystal from Mawaru Penguindrum.

Kneesocks and Stocking from Panty & Stocking.

Another Princess of Crystal from Mawaru Penguindrum!

Triple H version of Himari from Mawaru Penguindrum.

Taiga and Minori from Toradora.

Yayoi from Idolm@ster.

My friend Angie as Momoka from Mawaru Penguindrum! We took pictures together while I was wearing my Ringo costume, but I don’t have any yet haha.

That evening a big group of our friends got together! It was really fun, seeing friends from all over the West coast at the same time.

A really cute alt outfit of SeeU from the Vocaloid3 program!

Anne and her friend dressed all fancy for the ball.

Later in the evening we all put on our kigurumi and went to the big arcade right next to our hotel. It was crazy fun, the arcade had so many cool games!

My friend April bought this horse mask a while ago, so we had to all try it on…

I was the most kawaii horse of all.

In the early hours of the morning a big group of us decided to go get some McDonald’s, but we wandered all over downtown Seattle and couldn’t find an open fast food place…

Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I think she was working for Funimation, and she was so adorable!!

My friends Jessie and Callie cosplaying from Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler.

A quick shot of my friends and I cosplaying from WORKING!! Darwin as Satou, Angie as Poplar, myself as Yamada, and Escher as Souma! Unfortunately my skirt kept riding up under my apron ugh ;_;

Ghoulia from Monster High.

My friend Haley as Miku from the Dark Woods Circus music video. She actually won in her category at the cosplay contest with this amazing costume!

My friends Cristina and Shay as Rei and Asuka from Evanegelion.

I’m pretty sure this girl is cosplaying as Misaki from Another.

Shannon as Rin from the Secret Black Vow music video. I was going to be her Miku, but I couldn’t finish my dress in time…

I DID wear my “Chicken Biskit” Miku outfit, so I guess it kind of worked?

Her costume was awesome, so it was no surprise that she was super popular!

My friend Andrew as Brock from Pokemon. I actually hadn’t seen him in a long time, so it was really nice to catch up with him!

Caitlin as Shura? I don’t know the character or the series haha.

Caitlin is a LOT taller than me, so I stood on a bench for this picture! Also we both somehow defaulted to making duckfaces…

Jessie and Callie again, as Kida and Mikado from DURARARA!! with their friend Hannah photobombing in the middle!

Kelsey as Supergirl! I hadn’t seen her in forever so we also got to catch up.

Myself as Ringo with Hibari from Mawaru Penguindrum! This is pretty much the only photo I got of myself at the con as Ringo.

Minene from Mirai Nikki! I actually just finished the series, so it was great to see such a cute Minene!

We split the drive up to Sakuracon into two days, but decided to drive all the way back down in one. There were quite a few adventures along the way, even though I slept through most of it haha. My next con is Fanime in San Jose, which should be super fun!

Also, I made a public facebook page under my own name (ka-san) rather than my blog! So please, go ahead and like it! Right now it’s mostly used for cosplay, but if you’re interested, I can upload some lolita pictures too. I’ve pretty much stopped using the cottoncandydays.com facebook, so if you’d like updates and pictures from me regularly, go ahead and like ka-san on facebook!

Thank you!

♥ Katie
